    :

We returned yesterday from a weeks holiday at Lakeland. We were on holiday with our two Grandaughters and their 3 little boys aged 4, 23mths, 10mths.

I was a little apprehensive but thought we would give it a try. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Booking team were helpful each time I phoned. Caravan was superb, clean and very spacious .Problem French doors leading onto a set of steps. I rang accommodation, the manager came to see us ,Maxine, so helpful and understanding. Maxine arranged for us to move to a caravan with a balcony on the Monday. Again a lovely caravan ,very clean plenty of room and safe as French Windows led onto a balcony. Accomodation Manager Maxine came to ask if everything was ok.

All staff we met were helpful and polite, really let that they wanted the best for us. The site was clean and well taken care of.

Really can’t commend this site and its staff enough (even considering investing in a holiday home). My husband and I normally cruise or stay in 4/5 star hotels ,we are fussy and critical. But Lakeland measured up well, especially in terms of courteous service.

    Thank you Haven Lakeland.

Just spent our second weekend in our tourer.

Fantastic site, staff really helpful and friendly. Shower block really clean, and well looked after by the two staff there. Down side when it rains you are in 2-3″ of water as there isn’t adequate drainage. U need your wellies.

Tables and chairs in lounge bar needed on both occasions someone to learn how to wash them, they were sticky all the time. Toilets were dirty, no toilet roll and when there was it was thrown in, never in the holders.

I would defo go again out of season, as i don’t think the price for a tourer in school holidays is worth it.

Overall, great place, plenty to for kids, but need to get more cleaners. Food needs to be realistically priced as it isn’t worth it.

This is a lovely park, situated on the edge of the Lake District. It can be as relaxing or as busy/lively as you wish. I like the fact that at night the entertainment is under one roof. We could enjoy a meal in the Mash & Barrel and then go straight on into the Live Lounge for some live entertaiment. The bar stays open late at weekends for those who wish to make the most of the night life. There is a great food outlet called Cooks where you can purchase fish, chips, chicken etc. which you can eat in the Club if you are feeling peckish late at night. All the staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly.

We’ve stayed many times but, unfortunately, the accommodation is not always up to scratch at the lower end of the scale. Although adequate, the “Standard” accommodation is often tatty and scruffy and not well looked after (door catches missing, doors not fitting or closing properly, mould patches on curtains, blinds, mattresses and pillows. The most recent had an oven door that practically fell off each time it was opened and did not shut properly. Had we been staying for more than a couple of nights we would have requested a move. The cleanliness of the caravans leave a lot to be desired and I normally have to go around all the surfaces with disinfectant and a cloth before I unpack. The higher graded caravans seem to be better looked after and are more comfortable so if you can afford it, go for one of those.

Off park, I can recommend a pub called “The Engine” which is in the little village of Cark just past the railway station. Walkable in around 45 minutes or just a few mintues drive away. Its wonderful to sit outside and listen to the river rushing past. Extremely friendly staff who serve a fabulous 3 course Sunday lunch. The Engine offers a selection of 4 changing cask ales including Addlestones Cloudy Cider, Beers from the Ulverston Brewing Company, Barngates, Roosters, Banks’s, Hardknott and many more.

We will be going back to Lakeland in 2012.

Had a month at Lakeland in my tourer .I think Haven provide the best sites in the UK so please read criticism as constructive.

    Positive…

As with most Haven sites club and site cleanliness A1.

    All staff friendly and helpful.

Smokers are provided with sheltered space just outside the club.

    Dog friendly with dog walk.

    Nice warm swimming pool {free}

Shower block is clean and well kept by two cheerfull wardens.

    negative…

We had to climb over a fence to see the see or walk half a mile.

The site packed people like sardines onto touring pitches .

The site was not drained so little rain was needed to flood tents.Food was usual poor quality and expensive as with all Haven sites.

Again we found we were in a small minority who actually paid the £1 per night for the dog.

    Sum up…

Very good value [outside school holidays.] I would not visit this site again but only because Haven have better sites nearer my home.

    :

Just returned from Lakeland Haven park yesterday. Apart from the lovely weather we had, we had a lovely time and the holiday park is excellant.

This is my 4th time at Haven and this is the best site by far. We have to have a standard plus caravan as unable to get a higher rated one as we take our dog, but it was clean and well looked after.

3 bedrooms we had linin provided at a small cost but is clean. a bathroom with toilet and shower and another toilet.

Site is relaxing and the entertainment is there if needed.

This is a quiet area with the small village of Flookburgh having very little. Grange over sands only about 3 miles away and some takeaways if not fancy cooking or eating on site.

Trip to Ducky Park farm worth the trip (or walk there not far) good for those with young children or like animals. My family age 22yrs 14 yrs and 7 yrs all enjoyed it.

The model village is lovely to see also which is near by.

The camp site staff where very frendly and helpfull. Our lights fused one nite and they came to fix them within 10 mins.

Would recommend this as a good site for those who like to chill and enjoy this wounderful part of the world.

I have just spent 3 miserable days at Lakeland Caravan Park

The Caravan was very basic – no toaster microwave or freeview provided. The curtains were torn and mouldy and hanging off. The double duvet had to be changed as it was full of stains We had to wash cups and crockery as they were dirty and still had food on some of them. The gas fire would not light and we had to get maintenance to light it – once lit we had to leave it on for fear of it not lighting again.

Due to heavy rain the grass along side the caravan was a quagmire. No seperate place to have a nice meal only the bar full of football fans and no where to have a nice quiet drink either.

This is my first and last visit to a Haven park. I have stayed in a caravan park earlier in the year (privately owned)and it was far superior to this experience. the only redeeming feature was that the staff were friendly. Very disappointed!
